Compass Corner Resource #1

Cognitive & Executive Functioning Supports
The "Goblin Tools" App (AI-Assisted Executive Functioning)

The Science:  Executive dysfunction often makes large tasks feel insurmountable, leading to task paralysis. Breaking tasks down into micro-steps reduces cognitive load.

Resource to Highlight

Goblin.tools is a free, highly recommended clinical resource that uses AI to break down any task into highly detailed, step-by-step checklists, adjusting for the user's level of overwhelm.

Evidence-Based Somatic & Physiological Strategies
The Physiological Sigh (Double Inhale, Extended Exhale)

The Science:  Developed by neuroscientists, this is the fastest real-time method to reduce autonomic arousal. Two quick inhales through the nose maximize lung inflation, followed by a long, slow exhale through the mouth, which immediately triggers the vagus nerve to slow the heart rate.

How to Do It

Take two deep breaths in through the nose (one deep breath, followed immediately by a sharp "sip" of air to top off the lungs), then a slow, sighing exhale through the mouth. Repeat 2-3 times.

Compass Corner Resource #3

Sensory & Somatic Regulation Tools (Neurodivergent & Trauma-Informed)
High-Fidelity Acoustic Filters (Loop Earplugs / Calmer)

The Science: Unlike traditional foam earplugs that muffle all sound, acoustic filters reduce decibel levels while maintaining sound clarity. This prevents sensory overload in highly stimulating environments without causing social isolation or auditory deprivation.

Best For

Autistic individuals, ADHDers, and those with hyperacusis or sensory processing sensitivities.
